Materials for the Recipe
  • 2 cups of Ekin dry beans
  • 1 large onion
  • 4 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp pepper paste
  • 1 cup grated tomato
  • 4 slices of pastrami without fenugreek
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp ground red pepper
How is it done?
  1. Soak Ekin dry beans in water overnight and cook in a pressure cooker for 10 minutes.
  2. In the meantime, heat olive oil in a separate pot, and sauté the diced onions.
  3. Add tomato paste and grated tomatoes, stir and cook it well.
  4. Then add the cooked beans, spices, salt and mix it.
  5. Add enough water to cover the beans, let it cook for 10 minutes.
  6. Towards the end of the cooking time, add the sliced pastrami strips.
  7. Serve it hot with rice.
